Malpelo winds converge in the Northern Hemisphere Alisos the Southern Hemisphere, in what is called the Intertropical Convergence Zone. On the Island condenses moisture from the air and most of the time is covered by dense fog. Are frequent rainfall, except between December and March, which corresponds to the dry period.

Hydrology:

The characteristics of the marine environment are strongly influenced by the patterns of currents running through the area. The region of Malpelo is a confluence of several important currents of the Pacific Rim and the bay of Panama, which has undoubtedly influenced the composition of their particular special marine life.
